The Retreat
This is an exploration of dreaming itself
What is dreaming, really? Not just the images that come in sleep ~ but the visioning, the longing, the altered states, the felt sense that reality is more layered and alive than ordinary life usually lets us feel.
The Waking Dream Retreat is eight days of exploring exactly that. Through movement and stillness, through sensation and the elements, through ceremony and nature and the liminal hours between waking and sleep.
The three locations are chosen intentionally. Each holds a different element, a different quality of dreaming, a different invitation to shift perspective. The Pacific Ocean. An active volcano under the full moon. A sacred highland lake. These are not backdrops. They are teachers.
You will leave experiencing reality differently. More vivid. More intentional. More awake to the dream you are already living.
Three Layers of Dreaming
∿
Literal Dreaming
Sleep, dreams, the hypnagogic state. The intelligence that surfaces when the waking mind lets go. We learn to listen to it.
◎
Visioning and Possibility
The capacity to imagine differently. To feel the life that is possible and begin closing the distance between that and the one you are living.
⟡
Liminal States
The altered states between waking and dreaming, accessed through breathwork, ceremony, movement, and deep presence in nature.
THE HEART OF IT
"The boundary between dreaming and waking is more permeable than we think. This retreat is an invitation to explore that boundary and discover what shifts when you do."
Dreaming
Liminal · Visionary · Real
The sixth element of the retreat. The territory between waking and sleeping, between what never was, what is, and what could be. The whole reason we are here.
The Elements
What we move through
Each element is both a quality of nature and a quality of experience. We explore them all — in the landscape around us and in the body within us.
Water
Flow · Feeling · Depth
The Pacific Ocean at Mizata. Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. Water teaches us to feel, to move with what arises rather than against it.
Fire
Transformation · Activation · Vision
Fuego erupting under the full moon. Ceremony fire. The element of transformation ~ what burns away and what is illuminated.
Earth
Grounding · Sensation · Presence
The volcanic soil beneath our feet. The body itself. Earth is where dreaming lands, where vision meets lived reality.
Air
Breath · Perspective · Freedom
The breath in every practice. The Ocean Breeze. The summit of Acatenango at altitude. Air is what shifts perspective, what lets us see from somewhere new.
Space
Stillness · Awareness · Possibility
The element that holds all others. Stillness, silence, the open awareness in meditation. Space is the void that inspires dreaming.
A NOTE ON THE TIMING
"We hike under the April full moon so the summit is lit by moonlight, Fuego erupts, and we are standing at the exact midpoint of the retreat ~ between what we arrived with and what we are becoming."
Who This Is For
Built for the ones who feel the spark
Who are established in themselves. Hungry for something immersive, intentional, and genuinely unlike anything they have done before.
"The adventure seeker who also has a rich inner life. The powerhouse who needs a real reset. The wellness devotee ready to go deeper."
You are not looking for a resort. You are looking for a week that changes how you see things. Spent with a small group of like-minded people who are just as awake and curious as you are. Yoga and travel are either your life or your most sacred hobby. Either way, you are ready for something that goes further.

You
This is for you if...
You are curious about dreaming: The layers of reality, the states of being, the question of what becomes possible when you pay real attention.
You are craving immersion: Not a taster session. A full week where everything ~ the people, the place, the practices ~ is working together.
You want genuine comradery: Eight to Ten people, present and open. The kind of connection that takes most people years to build.
You are ready for a perspective shift: Not relaxation. A reorientation ~ in how you see yourself and what it means to live fully awake.
You want something rare: A rural beachfront sanctuary. A volcano erupting under a full moon. A mushroom ceremony at a sacred lake. Nothing cookie-cutter. Nothing ordinary
A NOTE ON FIT
This retreat is not for those with health concerns preventing full participation ~ including an overnight volcano hike. It is not for those seeking a passive resort experience. This asks something of you. That is exactly what makes it worth it.

1
No. You need curiosity, openness, and a genuine readiness to explore. The practices are accessible. What matters is that you feel the pull toward this.
Is the mushroom ceremony mandatory?
2
Entirely optional. Everything here is an invitation. You choose what you are ready for ~ always. Nothing will ever be pressured or expected.
How physically demanding is the volcano hike?
3
It is a real overnight hike and a genuine physical challenge. A baseline of fitness is needed. We will talk through this during the application process and make sure you feel prepared.
